It's actually kind of sad that a fair chunk of video game players can only think of what makes a "good system" based on what they personally want. The idea of taking a step back and looking at Average Joe just doesn't seem to occur to them, or they just assume that mainstream gamers share their tastes somehow (even though mainstream gamers often consider the more popular 'core titles to be "too complex" and "murder simulators"). Maybe it's the sheer volume of titles released to fit the interests of hardcore gamers that causes their eyes to slide over the other 3/4ths of the shelf containing games that they can't comprehend how anybody would ever want to play them...
