Actually, I don't think it has anything to do with Wii owners inherently being more intelligent. It's just that the typical discourse of these forums revolves around arguing over which console will come out on top.
Those arguments in favor of the Wii are pretty obvious and straight forward, yet it feels like they have come under constant objection and critisism for no apparent reason, but has then been proven that the arguments supporting the Wii are generally correct. This breeds the effect that Wii supporters are apparently more intelligent than the norm.
Those arguments in favor of the PS3 and 360 tend to ignore numerous flaws within the system, ignore any current trends when attempting to predict reactions of the populace, cherry pick data, and make up rules on the fly for determining success.
This isn't the case for all PS3 and 360 fans, but those fans that do tend to post intelligent comments generally stay closer to "Even if the Wii sells more, PS3 will still have the games I want to play" and thus get ignored, while the ones who get the attention are the ones who go "Proof that PS3 will beat Wii by 09!!!1!"
Ultimately, this results inWii crowd generally appearing to be more intelligent than 360 andPS3 fans.
