As for the bolded part? Call me a cynic, but I'm pretty sure DMeisterJ got caught up in the anti-MS sentiment and made a sweeping criticism of the console in general. I think he then restricted it to hardware after getting hammered on software.

So then you are saying that there were SW-related things in his OP which have now been deleted? What were they? Why did you not mention this before when we discussed this?

Er, I just had a quick scan over my OP and posts, but I couldn't see (and have no recollection of) myself saying he had software in his OP?

What I have said is that the OP implied the Xbox 360 was dying in general and it was only AFTER getting beaten down on SW that DMeisterJ changed it to specify HW.

Then you didn't. I simply believe that his OP as it stands now (with nothing incriminating having been deleted) is clearly all about HW and not at all about SW. So your previous post would (IMO) need to refer to (nonexistent) deleted SW-related material to be correct.

The post in question is as follows:
GTA IV launched in America and Europe this week, and the American numbers are in.
PS3 has outsold the 360 by a modes 26k units.
While that isn't a lot, America is 360's biggest market...
If GTA IV, with 360's Exclusive Episodic Content didn't push sales above PS3 this week, what will?
Is GTA IV the beginning of the end for the 360 in America?

My comment on this area from earlier in the thread:
If you look carefully ... it's clear that, although he uses GTA (SW) as a milestone, the subject of his question is HW. The numbers he cites are HW. The numbers he talks about are HW. Why would it now follow that the numbers he is asking a question about would not be HW?

DMeisterJ is a lot more reasonable than he used to be, so I'd bet you can find what you're looking for somewhere. Not here. Especially since his two responses to Viper1 reveal that he was exclusively interested in HW discussion and specifically (if derisively) ceded the SW point. This was well before the thread got out of hand so I think you would be hard pressed to call that part of the damage control.
