| SJReiter said: So my biggest problem with the trailer has nothing to do with the visuals or how it adheres to the source material. Instead, I'm worried that it looks just incredibly...clichéd. Like, if I didn't know what WarCraft was, I would assume this was just some generic, unoriginal fantasy movie. Based on the trailer, I feel like I've already seen this story done 1000x before. 'Two warring, seemingly opposite factions meet. War seems inevitable, good people on both sides try to prevent it. They must work together to bring both sides together.' It just seems so tired and played out already. Hopefully they did something to bring new life into this old story (and I am always hopeful because of Duncan Jones), but from what they showed in the trailer, it unfortunately doesn't look like it. |
It would be a shame if people did discount the movie because the plot seems simplistic. I mean, there is so much going on and it turns awesome with the Nightelves and the Scourge and the dragons and the demons and a ton more. Garona and Thrall are really good characters, too, who make the initial story more interesting. It has a lot of intrigue and betrayal. They just need to get people to get hooked until everything turns to hell and the real fun starts.
