Where's the Nintendo that developed epic games?

I've always compared Super Mario 3D World to a bag of sweets. Very fun, very addictive, and provides lots of immediate joy. However, it lacks the substance found in the two Super Mario Galaxy games for example. It's not a criticism of Super Mario 3D World as such, but I agree with the premise of the topic that Nintendo have made a lot of games like Super Mario 3D World this gen and exactly 0 games that capture the epic spirit of Super Mario Galaxy.
