As was discussed in the GAF thread on this - why is this CESA "white paper" updated with LTD shipments for Vita as of 31st December 2014, but is about 2 years out of date with their PSP data?
Surely if they have access to manufacturer's shipment data, they'd ask for the full whack (i.e. every console), not just pick and choose some of them.
Aside from that, Sony have gone to every effort to obscure Vita shipments since its launch, going as far as to stopping disclosing handheld shipments this year. I don't get why they'd suddenly just openly disclose to a source like this.
If it is reliable, then all we've got to go on is that it was 9.76m as of December 2014... so looks about on track here, probably a little bit overtracked (9.63m as of December 27th). The rest is just commentary based on that I'm-not-convinced-is-reliable 82m PSP figure which we've discussed to death in the other thread.
Maybe they'll release another white paper at the end of this year and then you can finally put an end to this argument :P
