Well not too much difficult since it was pretty much the only big real RPG at PGW, so no other choice

thats a very wrong statement

Show me where, since Dark Souls 3 is an action rpg more than a full RPG, a fan of RPG will obviously prefer the only real RPG. There was no real other possible choice.

Fallout 4, the only other thing the most close from a RPG wasnt there, so that explains all.

The real problem I see about Dark Souls 3, if it was indeed playable, is that the jury had a very limited time to play the games (one if the main criticisms made by the newspaper's article about it, and a complain of the jury). So, if they play something like 15 minutes to DS3, die 5-10 times and can't move forward more than 50m, they can't really enjoy the game (DS3 is targeted to a specific audience after all...). XCX looks better and is surely more enjoyable, at least by more people and in a more limited test time. Nothing surprising here, and like I said, not a lot to interpre, the PGW Awards are kind of worthless because of the reasons I already mentioned (even if I'm french, the national newspaper I'm talking about kinda have the same conclusion).

EDIT : Come on, the best PGW fighting/action game is Anarcute, an RTS game...  Of course, not related at all to the 100% french students development team... They even created a "Best PGW manga game" award for Shiness, another french indie. The criticism about these awards and their "political correctness" are fully deserved.
