That reason being that it was a launch title for the best selling Nintendo console of all time as well as a swan song for the prior console. Nothing else. If either was released at the same time on the same platforms, they'd acheive the same success.

No, they wouldn't. A TP remake would sell more than a WW remake, no matter when or on what it releases.
