Depends. Usually I'd go with your Mario being tougher than Fox. The exception is on a flat stage where you can put Fox's attrocious run speed to good use. The Samus/Fox/Wolf match we had earlier was a good example. You couldn't get your Fox going at fullspeed because the stage wasn't set to let you take advantage of one of Fox's strong points.
You also handle Mario's cape and Up + A (frustratingly) well.
Also, you may not realize yet (or maybe you do), but you can chain Fox's aerial Down + A straight into his Down + A on the ground making for a really nice one-two punch to send people flying off the edge.
