Are you talking about the Plants Vs zombies shooter?
OT: Splatoon is great... most of the time. The maps and mode rotation for online really sucks. But the core gameplay and gear are really innovative/unique IMO. If you want a fast, action filled shooter... dont get Splatoon.
And I have no idea about PvZ, but I suppose it doesn't have the same annoying things in Splatoon, and it looks unique too.
That's all I have to say.
