Don't know if this has been discussed anywhere, but doesn't the latest Nintendo earnings report confirm that the Wii U is over-tracked here? They've shipped 10.73 million as of September 30th, so there's no way they sold through 10.5 million right? Also, I think 3DS is also confirmed over-tracked. 54.34 million shipped as of September 30th. Can't have sold 54.6 million.

Great points. Both are definitely overtracked here. WiiU by ~300-500K, 3DS by 1M or so.

Wii u isn't... Relax... 700k wii u on the shelves? Are you sure?

I doesn't sell on a pace  to have 700k on the shelves, and do you think that retailers want so much wii u  units on their shelves? Some stores have stopped selling it!

Plus that wii u isn't being sold in many countries of the rest of the world/smaller european markets!

Wii u has 60k stock in Japan... Shipments in Japan are 2.66m as of 30th of september and 2.87m europe+other, so the stock must be similar to Japan, let's say 80k, 60k+80k= 140k, in the Americas is at 5.21mm, double numbers of Japan so double the stock of Japan, 120k, 60k+80k+120k=260k...

Here it's at 330k, acceptable and reasonable! The overall is right, the only problem is that the breakdown of the sales per territory is wrong, shipments  show that's it's overtracked in the row (we have it here at 610k, near the numbers of the finals sales of gc, irrational given the global gap between wii u and gc, and the fact that wii u is being sold in fewer row countries ) and undertracked in NA...

It's not hard to think that wii u worldwide stock isn't high...

As for 3DS, yeah it's overtracked by 1m-1.2m and that it's confirmed long time ago, all it's coming from 2014 and the rest of the world numbers...
