Well not everything on the PC is free to play online once you pay the initial cost of the game, you have things like WoW which cost €13 per month to continue accessing their online service, or games like LoL which is "free" for most people but there are boosters and addons to buy for it to the point where the game service isn't just being payed for i.e. development and bandwidth but also the company makes a rather nice profit from a game which is "100% free".

Private servers say hello ;o

I've played private servers for both Ragnarok Online and WoW (RO which is now F2P but wasnt before)  - sure the population and the exp rates/drop rates are different - its still the same game :P

Anyways MMOs are bleh :O

Piracy shouldn't be listed as a + for either side really, while PC emulators are very much a thing if you have a modded console you can equally do the same as long as there is a big enough community of people to port the emulators over. I've played FF7 on my Wii for example or Secret of Mana from the Snes on my Dreamcast.

Actually one of the best things I had for emulation before was the original Xbox with a setup of Mame in it, was a great little arcade machine replacement! ofc all of these can be done with a PC, but equally when you go into the realms of illegal software both sides gain advantages.

Not saying emulation should be considered a + for the topic at hand , but if you think about it - the PC is the best platform for emulation more than any other platform (as much as I love the emulation on PSP). The fact that you can actually modify games more on PC with all sorts of plugins, etc - makes the PC platform at least in terms of emulation the best platform for that exact reason.

On the private servers side of things what I would be more annoyed about being missing is the enemy or boss AI I've seen a popular up to date Cata server but with zero blizzard AI on boss's was just pointless to play, definately not the same game.

Emulation is best on the PC, but still, pirating Xbox360 games is best on a modded 360, can't be used as a + for a system imo when you're breaking the law to do it, just my opinion. But yeah agree PC emulators are great.
