Its a wiki page though (not often 100% correct)... and Im pretty sure most italians would claim the pizza is older than them haveing tomatoes.
My dad is a foodie? foody? and he always says the orignal pizza was made with olive paste.
The romans wrote everything down, there are records of how to make a pizza, from waaaay back then.
Basically it would come down to fighting over weather or not its "right" to still call it a pizza if it doesnt have tomatoes on it.
But yeah it was basically made the exact same way, eaten the same way,... the main differnce would be the no tomatoes part.
