Actually the biggest problem Pokemon (games) has, is that the vast majority of it's audience is 20 somethings. But you're damn right about the need for Pokemon to appeal to a wider audience - if it doesn't capture the sub-15 year olds, the franchise is going to be niche in a decade.

I know. That's why I said "games". It really doesn't help much if kids watch the Pokemon anime and play Growtopia and Minecraft. However, Pokemon Rumble and the likes are much more accessible than the main Pokemon games (that are huge turnoffs for many due to being too complex).

Too complex, yeah right. If Pokemon is too complex. Than Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy would of had the same problem, in the past. The problem really is if kids even pay attetion to the games/show in the first place.

Well, I believe Pokemon RPG's have sold so far more than all Square RPG's combined - so yes, what you said might hold the truth in it. The basic consept of Pokemon is easy to understand and simple, but the games have become more and more bloated and heavy on text. Surely, RPG as a genre isn't as accessible as, say, platformer, but that just supports my point.

But then you're saying Kids are more lazy at reading over the years. Who's fault is that? Parents or Pokemon. It's not like Pokemon started talking about Lumbar Punctures.
