Pokemon is kiddy. Say whatever you want, but the amount of 20 somethings that would actually buy a home console for Pokemon is few and far between. You guys represent the vocal minority.

Nintendo's next console much appeal to a wider audience than the one they already have, which is, the Pokemon audience.

Actually the biggest problem Pokemon (games) has, is that the vast majority of it's audience is 20 somethings. But you're damn right about the need for Pokemon to appeal to a wider audience - if it doesn't capture the sub-15 year olds, the franchise is going to be niche in a decade.

The anime is what does that part. You can only do so much to a franchise, till its altered too far. The games haven't changed for getting younger kids. The world the kids are born in has. But think about being in a producers shoe. You gotta make something "new". But you can't alter the game that far. The franchise has been going for 20 years. That's why things do baby steps. They have altered the game really far. It's the spinoffs. And ultimatly, don't sell the same as what the primary games do, for a reason.

That's what people want from the series. Then to add on top of Nintendo's protection stuff. Restricts even more for a MMO. What would you rather have, from a companies POV. The same basic game that always works. Or Digimon Frontier. Where they threw out the Digimon, and made the kids the heroes. And killed the franchises longevity.
