Price drops DO extend a console's life, providing of course there's software that people want ...
Go take at the 3DS and tell me straight in the face that they would've sold at their current rate had they kept their launch price ...
If retailers wanted to get rid of stock then all they would have to do is quit ordering shipments of WII Us and do price drops on their own accord without Nintendo ...
I'm not sure how the new 3DS models are supposed to be related in this discussion ...
