Since when price drops extend a console's life...?
They would like to get rid of the stock before the arrival of the successor,price drop is the solution....Let me note that Nintendo is in trouble with old 3ds/3dsxl,because people now care for the better new 3ds/3dxsl,the price between the old models and new models is very near,so the old stock stagnates and narrows down New models shipments,they can't ship as much as they would like to or the retail aren't able to ask for as much as they would like to,in order to avoid the channels overstuffing,so the new models face supply problems...If the old models get a price cut,then this doesn't imply a life lengthening to 3DS family...
It's traditional for Nintendo home consoles to have 5 years lifetime before being replaced,the price cuts of last year,didn't prolong their lifetimes...
Well gamecube had its price slashed two times in its first two years,which had a great effect,no matter what it finally sold,which could be worse without the price drops,it was only behind by 2m by the second antagonist,and extemely above the fourth,which was ruined ...
