I bought a classic controller for one reason. SNES VC games.
The diagonal line up of ABXY buttons on the original SNES controller meant you could hold one top row button while pressing a lower button or it's adjacent partner, so a lot of SNES games were designed with that layout configuration in mind.
Tried to play it on a gamecube controller and it just didn't mesh or feel right. Classic controller rectified that uncomfort. Funny too, how the employee selling me the classic controller was trying to convince me to go with a wavebird. A little annoyed, I didn't bother to explain how I bought it for the SNES VC games.
