But the Until Dawn thing is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison.  Until Dawn was a new IP with unknown potential.  Fatal Frame is tried and true and fully documented to sell rather poorly, having not ever topped 200k.  The whole series all together hasn't even topped 750k.  And it hasn't mattered what platform it was on, what image that platform had, or how big the install base was.  So Nintendo had an IP they knew was going to lose money.  Twas only a quesiton of how much.
