I still think that there is some chances that the all-AMD solution for Ninty could be an APU with multicore ARM CPU (beefed up from what we currently see on mobiles, but smaller and with lower power consumption than an x86, and slightly more powerful than PS4 and XBOne CPUs) and Radeon GPU, also slightly more powerful than competing ones. RAM could be 8 or 16GB DDR4 main RAM (larger choice if they want NX to get ports as easy as possible from the next competing 9th gen console) plus 2 to 4GB video RAM, 8GB would really surprise me. Video RAM tech could be HBM, to squeeze more performance out of a relatively low-level GPU (that would be anyway stronger than those on any 8th gen console). So I expect a prudent performance leap from 8th gen, but not as prudent as Wii U was from 7th gen, and Ninty will avoid any dangerous shortcomings: competitor 9th gen console will launch later and will obviously be stronger, but not by a measure so large to make ports from the stronger to the weaker too difficult. Using the latest memory tech could do the trick for NX, just like GDDR5 did it for PS4, squeezing the most out of a relatively cheap APU, keeping the price low without disappointing with performances.
