Huh. I was under the impression that FF II was the highest regarded game in the series.

Anyhow, I like how in depth you go in your review. Thanks for that! The only comment I can address (not having played III yet) is that the decision to limit the available film was probably to induce further horror by limiting your characters via scarce resources. It's an old trick: the less power you have, the higher the fear factor, so by making every shot count you're heightening the tension and therefore the fear.
Admittedly, it's not a perfect method, but that's doubtless what they were aiming for.
