Zen or k12 would fulfill the "industry leading chips" report for sure. Nintendo seems to have great pride in low power consuming products and these chips are far more efficient in per/watt performance.
There is still plenty of time left this gen (about halfway through in '16) so if at least one of the NX products matches/exceeds the level of the current consoles, it would serve Nintendo better in securing some 3rd party titles. It definitely seems better than the wii u situation, which launched way too late. Depending on what Nintendo puts on the market, the mid-gen approach has great potential as to what keeps the industry on its toes and devs pleased.
