Criterion Collection Announces First Blu-Ray Titles!

Criterion has also promised to market these Blu-ray titles at a price equivalent to that of their standard definition counterparts.

Albeit we won't know exactly what that means until these things get some MSRP's behind them, but I think Criterion understands that not price-gouging their fans is a good way to get them to rebuy some of these titles in Blu-Ray.

 See, the way I read this is that they'll scale up the price proportionally to the DVD price.  Aren't Criterion DVD's something like$34.99 (it has been a while since I looked at them)?  

So if your average DVD is $19.99 and your Criterion DVD is $34.99 then your average BD movie is $29.99 then your Criterion BD could be up to $50.  I hope I'm just misunderstanding that quote but I am willing to get they are going to be more expensive then your normal BD movies.
