Yes they do. All their IP's can be TV shows/movies. That be like saying a donkey can't be used in a CGI movie. You can adapt their stuff into something. It's just up to the writers that determin how to do it. And hope they get it right.
Kid Icarus is basically Megaman style tv show. Metroid would be a marvel tv/animation/movie style. Mario, a style like over the hedge, shrek. F-zero can be a drama like Fast and the furious, guardians of the galaxy, inital d. Studio Ghibli could adapt any Nintendo product, and make it work. They have done so many different type of stories already. The style that doesn't work is Mario Bros. Movie.
