Don't worry, I don't take it as a rant. I get your point and I can't deny that it's much more easier to get the console and games than to try to emulate it, but for a lot of people it is not a matter of what's easier or more convenient to do but a way to prove that it is possible to do. Your same argument could be said about Wii and WiiU and both have emulators when grabbing a Wii today is dirt cheap. Also let's not forget, that some of the people that want such an emulator want it to play without paying anything. Asking them to buy the console or the games is be ridiculous. |
Yeah that's true enough, when it comes to emulation of the Wii tho in particular it's effectively on par with the ps2 in terms of age of the processing power that's going on there in the background, I've not seen anything about Wii-U emulation tho, will have to give a look I've been out of the scene for a fair bit.
I would agree with you tho regarding how cheap a wii system is, because of their cheap price you can easily mess about with custom firmwares for that system without much risk if it goes wrong, have a nice Wii set up with a 500gb hdd sitting on top of it, just from again a convenience point of view that system gets hacked into such a user friendly piece of kit.
