But what about the install bases at the times? 360 was already beating PS3. When MCC released the install base was around 1 million. While PS4's is surely over 2million at the time Nathan Drake Collection released. Yet it sold less than half the copies.

VGC doesn't have first week numbers for all the Halo games in the UK, but at least worldwide, each mainline xbox 360 entry in the Halo franchise has shown to have approximately the same first week numbers, regardless of installbase (Halo 3: 3.8 million, Halo Reach: 3.6 million, Halo 4: 3.6 million). From that I think we can safely assume that the Halo franchise's sales isn't tied much to the installbase at all.

Uncharted's first week sales have increased together with installbase, but it could be argued that that's because franchise growth rather than installbase. In any case, if Uncharted's sales are tied to installbase, while Halo's sales evidently aren't, that would sort of be a benefit to Uncharted, rather than Halo.

TL;DR

If MCC and NDC both had launched this holiday, I don't think MCC had sold substantially more, simply because the Halo franchise has proven to be largely unnaffected by installbase. UCC may or may not have sold less had it launched last holiday, however I doubt it.

Either way, they both had similar ratios compared to their respective series, so I would say both performed basically equally well.

Well if install bases don't change much it makes me think these percentages they've been throwing don't have a lot of purpose. The whole "80% of players haven't played Uncharted" seems more of an excuse to make it than a reason.
