You must be young. Or atleast young enough to not remember the PS1/N64 or even PS2/Gamecube/Xbox eras... where we were asked to buy extra storage all the damn time. Hell most of those systems it was required to play even one game.

From the PS1/N64 to PS2/Gamecube/Xbox era the only game I recalled needing storage was Final Fantasy XI which they at least provided with an HDD.  Other than that I don't recall or have any games on those system that required extra storage.

Can you please list some examples of games that required extra storage that we had to purchase for each of the consoles you've listed as I'm curious.  I didn't even know you can hook up a storage device to PS1 and N64. :/

Are you kidding me right now? The PS1, PS2 and gamecube all required memory cards. They did not have built in hard drives. The Xbox had like 10 mega byte hard drive! The PS2 hard drive was sold separately and didn't come out till the last couple years of the system! Numerous N64 games required memory cards (the hole on the bottom of the controller was originally meant for memory cards) Turok, perfect dark, Blast Corps, the list goes on. How do you not know this?
