Why isn't samus in a mario kart game?

It's not even about the original post anymore, man! It's so much bigger than that now! We're making history in this thread! Almost every character has had their own vehicle in their own game, and yet when they all race together, they choose go-karts? Yoshi can turn into a fucking helicopter in Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong each have their own racing games! It's madness! Nothing means anything anymore!
