Bought at launch. Turns out to have been the best time to buy a PS4 given that it's taken almost two years before seeing its first official price drop.

Anyone who's done this rodeo before knows that console gaming is a simple proposition of content to asking price.

Unless there is no content worth buying, at which point even a free console would be worthless, consumers are essentially weighing the difference of $50, $100, etc. off the hardware against the value of being able to play any of that desired content immediately.

The only time paying that premium for immediacy should be the source of regret is when the hardware drops too soon in price relative to when that hardware was purchased.
