That sounds strange, you talk as if nobody would want the PS4 at 400$.... it was selling pretty well already, selling more than any other game console almost every months since launch!
My guess is only more people will buy it now, but 300$ would have been a killer move for sure! (I think 250 - 300$ is the sweet spot for a console in therms of price).
99$ would be amazing, I'd buy a second one and keep it ina box just in case someone wants to borrow it.
