Honestly, I hope they take a few pointers from some of western devs, specifically few Euro-RPG devs, who managed to strike quite good balance between open-worlds and narrative structures in the past.

After OOT, the Aonuma took over the LoZ team. It's obvious which path they were going to follow given fan and critic reception to OOT. Hardware had nothing to do with it.

Of course it didn't have anything to do with hardware, that's why I said on several ocassions that I don't buy into Miyamoto's "hardware limitations" excuse - maybe that can pass for N64 (though, at the time, PC had open world 3D RPGs), but certainly not for GC and Wii.
