It was a way to get more Far Cry style gameplay in a different environment without worrying overmuch about a complicated plot and all the filler material in standard FC titles. As a cheaper stand-alone title, it was excellent. Actually taking bases was more fun than in the mainline games. I have zero problems if every numbered Far Cry is followed by one or two Blood Dragon type games. They can be developed faster and cheaper and they can focus on game-play. |
