Metroid I suppose. Though my history with the franchise and Nintendo in general is an interesting one.
It's been since 2007 since we had a real Metroid though, and that won't change any time soon.
I'm going for Mario otherwise, as he has the greatest variety I like: 2D platformer, 3D platformer, level creator, RPG and kart racer.
