As long as dedicated gaming is still profitable for Nintendo than they will continue to be part of that market. How often do companies completely abandon markets that are profitable for them just because something else is more profitable?

But as we've seen lately, Nintendo ISN'T making big money of consoles...

That's different from what u asked tho, if Nintendo leaves the console market it will be because it's no longer profitable for them, not because their smartphone games make more money.
