What was the point of the "New" 3DS?

The answer is the same as asking why the PS4 wasn't the PS3 or the PS2, because it hadn't been developed yet.

sure because PS3 was a simple upgrade to 2, and 4 is a simple upgrade to 3. Never heard such a badargument in a while.

There is nothing in the new 3ds that couldnt have been done in the original
