Yeah, I saw the combat techniques. I already bought the "Fleet of Foot" dodge one and the "4 Reflectors" one. I'm sure there will be a use for all the money I've gotten later, I just hate seeing stupid temporary power-ups for sale. Those things are almost never useful in any game I've seen. If they lasted the entire battle and were cheap enough to where I could pick up a ton of them for little money, I'd definitely use them. However they're too expensive for just a temporary boost.
As for the comment that I'm "just getting started," I'd like to think that 3 hours in is enough time to get to somewhere interesting. I'm benchmarking against Zelda games (maybe that's my problem), but given 3 hours in just about any Zelda game I feel like I could have accomplished a lot more than I have in Okami so far.
I'm having fun all the same. I just have my quality bar set pretty high for this title.
