This really needs to happen, it's a no-brainer (more ticket sales for the teams, more ad revenue).
Make preseason 3 games instead of 4, and have 6 playoff games week 1 postseason instead of 4, etc.
I guess the only possible complaint might be from teams that have little chance of seeing the playoffs and like the extra sales of week 4 preseason? That's really reaching though.
I think this just shows how even a great idea is terribly difficult to get through the quagmire of the modern NFL though. We get weird things like the longer extra point attempt (who cares even though it doesn't bother me), but something like this is just floating in the ether for a while yet.
