I'm not against freedom of religion but if it stops a government worker to do his job respecting the legal and human rights of the people he should be serving, he's not fit for the job and should resign or be fired.
Everybody should expect their government to respect everyone's legal rights, and there should be no room for discrimination based on religion, race, sex, etc.
Freedom of religion and such is fine, but those things are personal freedoms that should not leak into public rights and laws. "Separation of church and state" and all that.
