I've been a regular listener of Cowherd for years now. He'll be the first one to admit that, while he does think gaming is dumb, he takes that stance to win over the elderly crowd who doesn't get gaming. He's very self-aware and realizes that he constantly contradicts himself to pander to his audience, because he knows it's all about the ratings at the end of the day. And to get ratings, you have to pick a side and jam your stance into the ground.
This is a guy who will say on Monday morning to be open to newer things and it's important to broaden your horizons, then turn into a stereotypical shock-jock cult leader on Thursday morning and have his fans gather torches and pitchforks for a witchunt on adult gamers and wrestling fans.
