What was the point of the "New" 3DS?

1) To fine-tune a few things that likely otherwise become easy turn-offs for buyers on the fence. Regular 3DS can be considered slow and awkward in many ways - N3DS improves on many of those things just enough to seal the deal with some people who want 3DS games, but have trouble overlooking some of the setbacks.

While I don't think has helped XC, I think it certainly made a difference for MH4U.
