For a first person shooter, especially one that is as multiplayer-centric and online focused as the Halo series, frame rate performance and overall stability during game play far outweigh any trivial downgrades in the resolution / visuals. Halo was never the most visually stunning series either. Not every game needs to be 1080p @ 60fps at all times if it means sacrificing performance and stability during game play.
