Actually Nintendo with Wii U want to have DS and in same time users to have tablet that can use for other things too. A am pretty sure Nintendo will keep Wii U concept between NX home console and NX handheld, using NX handheld like Wii U gamepad for NX home console. |
I think Nintendo kinda needs to learn something -- 90% of gamers aren't going to pay $500 for Nintendo hardware.
That's basically what they're charging now to have people play both, it's not really surprising even most Nintendo fans (80%) say a resounding no to buying a console to play the same franchises after already having the handheld.
I feel a portable console is their best bet. Can beam games to the TV when at home, but can be moved anywhere and has a new hook that when moved around encourages people to come and gather around it and play together (I have no idea what that would be).
They may make other SKUs from the core chipset as time goes, but I think that will be the central device of the whole NX, everything else will be secondary. Just my feeling. Would be a pretty radical change, but change is good.
