I think Splatoon 2 would sell well, but I 100% don't think that a shooter of any kind is what will be the killer app. If you don't like shooters, or if you don't care for Splatoon's brand of gameplay, you won't buy an NX for it, and that's a lot of people. Splatoon might be good, but it doesn't have nearly the kind of killer app potential that games like Nintendogs or Brain Age had. The appeal is just not wide enough.
While I think Pokemon could be a killer app for the NX, I just don't think it will be a launch game, to I'm not even considering it.
