The thing that irritates me the most is how Kojima and the Konami marketing team billed this as the story that showed BB becoming the demon he is in MG1+2 to make the series come full circle. We simply don't get that. It closes some loops and retcons some over arching ideals for the series, but this is just another save the world story that keeps BB in the gray area.

That's because of the unniversal acclaim Big Boss received post MGS3. Ever since then Kojima can't bring himself to show what he truly is, a heartless bastard and a remorseless killer.

Which is such a shame, because I really dig that about people
