It has by far the best gameplay in the series, but sadly does go to waste to a certain extent. I suppose I'd say it's the best actual game Kojima has made, but MGS3 remains easily the best Metal Gear he's made.
It's a shame, because I do think if this whole Konami mess hadn't gone down, and he'd had maybe an extra year then this would have been a true masterpiece.
