When we play a video game, the psychology is to beat it or to "win". That generally means that we complete a task, vanquish an enemy or reach some kind of score. After that, the game is essentially over lest we play it again or have some kind of multiplayer arena to demonstrate our talents.
Does this mentality of having to win need to spill over into our civil conversations with others to the point where we can't communicate a simple idea or two?
