| Xxain said: 1. I wasnt referring to Lords of Shadow but Castlevanias budget historical has not drastically changed pre LoS. Sprites are aggressively reused. 2. The status hasn't changed because the fanbase doesn't want it to. KONAMI did give Castlevania a chance to grow. Nobody wanted it. The developer behind LoS said LoS was more popular with gamers, not of Castlevania fanbase. God of War fans enjoyed LoS. KONAMI was very aggressive about growing Silent Hill as well. AAA route is NOT want fanbase want these IP's. Why care if KONAMI backs out? |
Everything is aggressively reused when it comes to the technical side of development ...
Castlevania is one franchise but what about the rest of them ?
A fanbase CAN grow, take a look at Final Fantasy and many other examples ...
Sure konami was aggresive about growing Silent Hill so that's why they cancelled it! LOL ...
You can't say that the AAA route isn't the best way to go about it since that is what re-established the console gaming industry as it is now so it definitely is the proven model ... (It's either go big or go home.)
We should care if Konami backs out because that just means less good games in the end for us ...
