It's not really an accessory tbh.

To the average consumer that will be the perception.  You have to have a PS4 in order to use it so how else will consumers view the device.  Sony can say its a new console/platform but the device is dependant on the PS4 just like any accessory.

If the device is north of 350, it will run up against the age old problem where people feel what they have is good enough.  I know I could aford the device but I am also more than happy to wait for a title I must play with it.  I have so many games coming between my X1 and PS4, that PSVR has to just blow me away.
