Will be reserving my judgement til we have more and better info. Maybe they just goofed up something, and are gonna patch it to fix it.
EDIT: Read through part of the GAF thread, and it appears that a bunch of year 1 content was also updated, and is now countend as a "part" of The Taken King, since the update to that content was a part of The Taken King. So they really did lock out content from the Year 1 content unless you buy The Taken King. What a bunch of crap.
