I just know that when in a big company one in a team of 20, 30 or even 100 people gets promoted or publically recognized for the work done many colleagues are pist off, because they feel they were better. So a common feeling is "why him/her? I did much more!". WIth the difference that when it's a guy getting the promotion some may dismiss it as a case of brown nosing, some women think "I'm better, I deserved the promotion. But I'm a woman, he is a man ERGO the company is sexist!". |
The paragraph you quoted didn't adress this specific case, but I see you found that out. It was just something general. On this forum, people are the complete opposite of the super feminists like Anita Sarkeesian. For the most part, people here can't even acknowledge the possibility that this case is legit discrimination. I'm not saying it is, but people here that don't know anything about the case are pretty darn friggin quick to say it isn't. And this mentality isn't exclusive to this case, it's just a general behavior on the forum. That was what I was getting at, and that's what I meant by it not being black or white. You don't have to be either super feministic Anita Sarkeesian, or naive and think that there is no discrimination in the western world.
